Workers In Ogun Resume After Eid-El-Kabir Holiday

Official Duties have resumed in public and private organisations after the two days public holidays declared by the Federal Government to mark this year’s Eid -El-Kabir

A correspondent who went round some of the offices in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital reports that scores of workers were seen performing their routine duties.

While assessing the level of turn out on the part of workers, the  Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Dayo Adeneye and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Mr. Rotimi Durojaiye said “majority of the workers reported for duty”. They further stated that anybody who failed to report for duty would be dealt with accordingly.

On his part, the Ogun State Head of Service Mr Abayomi Sobande evaluated the state civil servants to be the best across the country. He advised the workers to continue to put in their best for the development of the state. He also called on them to maintain the set standard in the state as a pace setter state in southwest and Nigeria at large

 

Some of the workers at the Federal Secretariat were seen exchanging pleasantries, while others were busy cleaning their tables and chairs in their respective offices.

 

Commercial activities had picked up in the city as taxis, tricycles and commercial motorcycle operators were busy conveying passengers to different destinations unlike during the holidays when the streets were virtually empty of traffic.
